    Valentine’s Day Sonnet

You just moved away to a town nearby
You packed up all of your things and just went
But, I felt no pain, I didn’t cry
I just moved in life without a dent

But on a day a long time ago
I saw you again in a different way
And you came back for me surely I know
I thought of you as “changed” that day

Your hair was different and your clothes too
You were sweet to me unlike in the past
More gentle, friendly, and way cuter too
But you left again, just like in the past

I miss you so much, I really do
And I want to say I like you too!

  2.   Tanner C. Says:

    The Tragedy Best Self-Mended

    As tragedy struck all around
we were torn apart inch by inch
    our relationship had run aground
we had no choice we were in a pinch

You and I we both agreed
    while we were here
    we both had greed
as me and you shed many tears

    But you came back
    into my sweet embrace
    this was no attack
and we got back together at a lower pace

    We were together once again
To remember the time would be a just gain

A Day Away on my Boat

The sun was shining as the boat sits quiet on Lake Oat
I lay staring up as I stay afloat
Having a beer and a cheap bottle of Coke
I pace myself and try hard not to choke

Seagulls overhead in the deep blue sky
If they crap on me I’ll be sure they die
B.B. gun on the seat by my side
I relax and close my gray-blue eyes

Suddenly I feel a drop of rain
I soon find out the real pain
I grabbed by gun and cocked it far back
I eye the seagull and launch my attack
    I watch as 650 F.P.S.
Go right up the little crap’s a.s.s.

I will never forget that afternoon
I now see a seagull and yell, “stupid buffoon!”

  4.   Saniya K. Says:

    LOVE SONNET

All day long I dream about me and her,
Her scent, so sweet, is calling and beckoning me,
Her face, so angelic, is like a lure,
I care for only her, why can’t she see?

Her hair is soft and pretty like silky lace,
Her shiny eyes as blue as the dreamy sky,
Her skin, as smooth and delicate as a porcelain vase,
And when she laughs I want to fly so high.

She runs away from me every time,
I try to talk to her in every class.
I even give her fabulous poems that rhyme
But they end up in the stinky trash.

Please, oh pretty lass, talk to me
And you will set my tender heart a free.

  5.   Julia R. Says:

    Like A…

Like an ice cream on a summers day
Like a toddler on a brand new bike
Like a horse eating a fresh barrel of hay
Like a camper taking a hike

Like a fresh patch of fresh fallen snow
Like a guitar with new strings
Like a little girl with her new bow
    Like a grasshopper that sings

    Like a chip with guacamole
    Like a book with words
Like a church that is very holy
Like a cat that caught a bird

    Like a very red heart
    Like a delicious blueberry tart

  6.   Maddy D. Says:

If I died in your arms I would have no regrets,
I would leave this world with you in my heart.
I know that you would make sure no one forgets
That we will never be apart.

I know true happiness when my eyes meet yours,
That is the one feeling that makes me whole,
And someone closes a window of opportunity I open a million doors,
Because you are the one keeper of the key to my soul.

  7.   Matt C Says:

    Valentines Day Sonnet

You are always in front of me right there
I see you all the time right there outside
In my mind, and in my eyes always.
I always wonder if we’ll make a pair.

Both of our favorite colors are orange
Which is one of the hardest words to rhyme
When I’m thinking of you it’s very easy
And I can think of words like door hinge.

I am thinking of you wherever I am
I would give up anything to be with you
Literally anything in the whole wide world
I would even give up a piece of ham.

You are a lot like the morning sunset
You’re amazing, but just passing by.

  8.   Danielle H. on Sonnet Says:

    My Bug

Shall I compare the to a day at the zoo
You are so nice and funny I cannot say
You make me want to stick to you like glue
In your eyes I see the happenings of your day

Your honesty is what makes me melt
Your geeky comments is what I love to hear
This is a feeling that I have never felt
When I’m with you, I never have a fear

It seems you always know just what to say
You make me crazy; you know my word is true
Seeing your face makes everything okay
I could spend all day thinking about you

Your smile lights the world like the fiery sun
And when I’m with you, I know I’ll always have fun!

  9.   Bianca P. Says:

    If there be Pain

    If there be Pain,
    all you need to do
is call me to be with you

And before you hang up the phone
you will no longer be alone
    Together we can never fall
because our souls will conquer all

    If there be Pain,
reach out for a hepling hand
and I shall hold you wherever I am

Every breath I breathe will be into you
for without you here my joy is through
my life was lived through falling rain

So call me if there be Pain.

  10.   Tim O. Says:

Because I could not think of any speak outs to write a poem about, I wrote a sort of English related poem. Enjoy!

    There’s no sense crying
    over every mistake.
    You just keep on trying
till you run out of cake.
    And the English gets done.
And you make up a neat pun
    for the people who are
    still alive.

    Now these points of data
    make a beautiful line.
    And we’re out of beta.
    We’re releasing our time!
I don’t want to be burned,
Think of all the things we learned,
    for the people who are
    still alive.

    Look at me: still talking
    when there’s English to do!
    When I look out there,
it makes me glad I’m not you.
    I’ve got homework to run.
There is research to be done.
    With the people who are
    still alive.

  11.   Zack boyd-snee Says:

    SONNET

School is the utmost boring thing

Sitting in class is so very lame

All of the teachers are so mean

Homework? please I’d rather play video games

I want to stay home and sleep

And play whatever I want to play

Not be doing homework with a pile knee deep

And eat good lunch without having to pay

Of a list of things I hate, school is on top

School is an idiots idea of fun

So much education in my head makes it want to pop

Everyone hates school I am not the only one

So goodbye school I shall never come back

Enough with getting up early and having to pack
